I Don't Understand Why Everyone Feels Insulted

What the article says is this:

*Hatcher said women can develop addictions to the sexual fantasies in romance fiction*(this is not in quotes by the way)

This is a TRUE statement and it doesn't read - Hatcher said all women who read romance fiction become addicted to the sexual fantasies.

And she is quoted as saying the following:

"because I'm not saying (sex) is what romance fiction is as a whole."

I am not seeing what many of you are. There were no personal attacks on the readers of romantic fiction and certainly nobody was called a degenerate or any other name.

I'm not looking to debate; I just sort of feel bad for her being slammed this way.
