I love reading, and I am hardly ever without a book in my hand. I honestly can't remember not reading. The kindle is my new favorite possession since it eliminates hours that I used to spend going from bookstore to bookstore. Like many of the other readers here, I savor the books that are unique and different but still fall within the romantic genre. I greatly admire authors that have the ability to create new worlds. While I have read everything from horror, suspense, intrigue, science fiction, westerns, the romance genre is my favorite. I do have a definite preference for books that make me laugh. I love books that mimic real life romances with courtship and dating. Have the hero take care of the heroine's dog while she is out of town and I am in love. I love reunion stories too, especially couples that have been divorced and get a second chance to get it right.

What I'm a sucker for in a book: Humor, witty dialogue, and strong heroines. In fact I think that the heroine makes or breaks the book for me rather then the hero.
What I don't particularly care for in a book: Gratuitous sex and rape.
What drives me absolutely nuts in a book: Mental health issues that are miraculously cured . Characters that have been scarred by issues way in their past, and haven't moved on; political messages or preaching. Violence written in to shock the reader, but the characters don't really have any long term issues from it.
