About Me |
I've been a reader for as long as I can remember but wouldn't touch
anything that wasn't horror or fantasy related until a relative gave me
a box of old historicals, harlequins and Danielle Steel novels. Then I
discovered Romantic Times and used bookstores and now I have such a huge collection of books that I'll probably never have time to read them all
in this lifetime.
Because of my early love of horror I'm drawn to anything weird. I buy
almost any romance with a mention of paranormal, vampire, ghost or faery in the blurb but that doesn't mean that I don't also enjoy straight
historicals and contemporaries in all of the various subgenres.
I'm 33 (and staying there!) and am married to a man who shakes his head
at all of my unread books but never complains when another pile topples
onto his stuff. I have a 7 year old son and a 5 year old daughter who
both enjoy books and already have huge collections of their own. I am a
slow reader, and work part-time as an office manager so I don't have a
lot of patience with books that aren't working for me. I'll never be a
prolific reviewer but do hope to get at least one or two done each month
because there is nothing I enjoy more than talking about books, whether
I loved them or not.

Personal Reading Tastes |
What I'm a sucker for in a book: Virginal heroes, characters with terrific senses of humor, friends who become lovers.
What I don't particularly care for in a book: Abusive heroes, 30-year-old virginal heroines who are clueless until the hero comes along, authors who write unending series with books that are loaded with tons of boring backstory.
What drives me absolutely nuts in a book: Too Stupid To Live heroines, dull or overly flowery writing, secret pregnancies and babies.
