| I am always unsure, are books released in the last week of December which have a January 2012 copyright date but actually came out on December 27th considered 2011 or 2012 releases for the purposes of the poll? |

We go by the copyright date (on the page after the title page). So even if a book is released late in 2011, if it has a 2012 copyright date, please vote for it next year. Thanks!

@LeeB.: I have to check my copyright pages to double check, but I know of at least two categories where I voted for a book released on Dec 27. If those particular votes are "bumped" which may (or may not?) take my ballot to less than the required six entries (I need to check that too), is there anything we can do? We can't edit ballots, right, so is it likely our whole ballot will become ineligible? (which indeed may be a fitting result for a reader who doesn't read the details listed for the contest? :/ ) |

Eliza: If you would like to make changes, just resubmit your ballot with the corrected categories. I'll send you a PM also.
