When did we start saying "sorry" instead of "excuse me" to each other? Her example was, when we are getting out of each other's way..we say, "sorry". What are we sorry for?
So for me...another word is "sorry". Bring back, "excuse me". That's my vote. |
I use both but for different reasons. If I were to hiccup in public (I cannot personally burp, so I can't use that example <g>), I would say "excuse me." If I were to accidentally bump into someone, say in the grocery store, I would tell them I was SO sorry. If someone were blocking my way and I needed to get around them, I would probably say, "pardon me." |
