I know this is an older thread, but I just had to share a new vintage Harlequin cover I've fallen in love with. It isn't historical or artistically brilliant, but it's so sweet and gentle and makes me happy. Very Happy

Don't pay much attention to romance covers. They're forgettable at best and ugly at their worst. But Lady's Tutor... well, I just can't forget that one Wink

The french cover for "My Lord and SpyMaster". The title translates as 'The Master of My Heart" so it even has a better title.

This is my current favourite. I could look at this cover all day long. Love the feel of it.

My favorite cover is Shana Abe's 'The Smoke Thief'. It's the only time I bought a book based on cover without knowing anything about the author.

I never saw the Judith Ivory or the Charlotte Featherstone cover. They are amazing. I'm a sucker for the clothes.

Both The Tutor (2010) and Pride & Passion(2011) have been finalists in the annual cover contests at Cover Cafe and they were my favorites from their respective years. Since I work with romance covers all year long, via Cover Cafe, I have too many favorites to choose just one and they change from year to year.

Although it's a different pose with different models, I think this cover of Judith James' The King's Courtesan has the same kind of sensuality as the Hope Tarr cover:

Definitely caught my eye, anyway.

My favorite cover is on Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Sugar-Queen-ebook/dp/B00125MK78/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1339631633&sr=8-2

All the other covers to her books are gorgeous also. I espcially liked The Girl Who Chased the Moon and The Peach Keeper.

I wish more romance novels had a cover as beautiful as the one for Amor Towles' Rules of Civility. It's not a romance but the cover would work well for one.

PWNN, I was intrigued enough by the cover and title of Josh Lanyon's Come Unto These Yellow Sands to try the book (which I enjoyed) and am now glomming on his Adrien English mystery series, which also has some very nice covers. Adrien is often described as resembling the actor Montgomery Clift, and the cover model at least matches the appropriate look and body type for that. I particularly like the covers for Fatal Shadows and The Hell You Say:

http://www.amazon.com/Shadows-Adrien-English-Mysteries-ebook/dp/B007ZRH38I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340025472&sr=8-1&keywords=josh+lanyon+kindle+fatal+shadows

http://www.amazon.com/Hell-Adrien-English-Mysteries-ebook/dp/B006LNC468/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1340025521&sr=1-1&keywords=josh+lanyon+kindle+hell+you+say
(love the James Bondian pose in the Boss Hugo suit)

BTW -- I am loving this series and think I've discovered another auto-buy author.
