~~~~~~Spoilerish~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I mostly enjoyed the Season 4 opener, especially after that extended open in Fairyland. I must say, I'm not too intrigued by that whole thing, but I did love those purple sparkly bombs, gotta get me some of those! Very Happy I did think afterwards that maybe Game of Thrones spoiled me a little on story pacing bc they would've covered four storylines in the 16 minutes TB took in Fairyland...I promise I'll try to shake the GOT/TB comparisons!
I was a little uncaptivated by Hoyt & Jessica. I'm sure they're going to explore the difficulty of having a relationship between two people w/such differing basic needs, but I really like Hoyt and I just feel like he's gonna get the shaft, big time.
Loved the Barbie dolls, I have a theory on the Little Mikey story...
Also, loved Tommy Mickens w/Hoyt's Momma! Can't wait to see how those two crossed each other's paths.
Bill as the King? Well, I've read about 9 of the books so I know that's not a part of it. I'll go along, but I have a feeling that after they do the amnesia storyline, and maybe something more with Hadley, then that's it for any pretense w/the books. I think, with the exception of certain characters, the book stories are really gonna go by the wayside. I'm okay w/that bc I know AB has his own vision. But to me, when they panned to Bill as King, I really felt like that was the jumping off point. It's one thing to keep LaFayette alive or introduce Jessica, but Bill as King really is a game changer.
All in all, I'm glad it's back~!
P.S. All my fellow Alcide-aholics, I read an article w/him where he said he didn't show up right at the beginning of the season...as long as there's no shirt on when he enters! Wink
Nifty...Ditto on everything, especially the point about Tara. Me too. Enough already.
I'm ditto on most of what you said! LOL
I'm not thrilled with Bill as King, but I've never thought he's a 'd*****, sorry, the word makes me cringe. I like Bill, I just don't understand why they've made him king. Maybe to pump up his character while he and Sookie are broken up?
I LOVE when Eric gets all possessive! Very Happy The ending was the best part of the ep, I think I will go ahead and watch the next episode on HBO GO, i t was just getting good.
I hate the whole year lost storyline, and fairyville was just..weird.
I can't stand Tara, I think this pretty much cinches it. I keep trying to like her but I don't think there's hope.
I ended up watching it, too, off the Internet. Definitely sheds light on some things. Cool
Oh, my television provider does not have HBO GO. I wonder if there is any hope of them signing up for that??? Sad
I love when Eric is possessive too!! Yeah, I'll admit that.
And the year lost in fairyville? weird and kind of lazy way to seque into the storyline.
And Tara is more like a comic book character at this point. Just her facial expressions alone are ridiculous. Ugh. I'm really over her.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that enjoys Sookis is MINE! LOL I also think that Eric being so possessive is kind of a build-up to the amnesia Eric that's coming, to show contrast.
Tara also has the worst accent, she sounds ridiculous.
Xina, I wish you could catch the second ep now but I look forward to your thoughts!
Ditto on Tara. I haven't liked her since the beginning. Her accent is atrocious (but then she is originally from Las Vegas <g>). Surprisingly, Aussie Ryan Kwanten has one of the best Southern accents IMO. I am not really liking the Bill as King deal (but without that he would be gone for the entire season).
I saw that the 2nd episode is now on HBO on Demand, so if you have that on your cable, you can watch it on TV now.
Well, there goes his memory...lol! I love the last line..."why do you smell so good?" Fixing her door and giving her a new microwave. That is so Eric.
The scene with the witches was funny in parts. I don't remember Minerva (is that her name?) being so passive in the book.
Eric looked so lost wandering down the road. I think this is the first time I have matched a scene in the book with the TV series!
Yep, there he goes! LOL I think Minerva (the head witch?) is going to turn out to be the villain of season 4, she's just getting started.
Arlene and the baby, I'm torn between being horrified at her behavior and laughing, typical True Blood. Very Happy
Jessica and Hoyt - I don't need that $hit - OUCH!
Bill looked absolutely ridiculous in this ep.
I saw this episode prior to last night, but on my computer so it was almost like seeing it again a first time on the TV.
I feel the same way about Arlene and the baby, but could they have found a cuter little guy? He's adorable. I have a theory... Cool
Jessica and Hoyt, I just feel sad that this love arc is cruising toward a crash & burn. Both of them are right in their own ways.
Love the coven. Especially when Marnie said they were gonna raise someone from the dead and Tara bolts out, another classic True Blood moment. Lots of chatter on the Internet about who Marnie's inner witch is going to be...and I don't know bc Book #4 is the one book I didn't get my hands on!
Now, see? I liked the Punk Bill flashback. Probably bc I came of age in the early 80s. That look was so Adam Ant-ish. I loved it! I'm still on Team Bill. For some reason, Eric in the books and Eric on the show just leave me flat. He comes off just as disingenuous as Sookie perceives Bill to be.
The Sam/Tommy stuff is a little boring, but from next week's previews it looks like it might be picking up. What's their angle with Luna as shape/human shifter? For some reason, I'm not remembering that from the books. Does that show up in Book #4 or past book #9? That's the extent of my reading.
Jason, Crystal, Hot Shot...please, just shoot me. Can't stand any part of that story. I know that it's necessary for Jason's character, but let's get it over with. That's one storyline I'll be glad to see them deviate from the books.
Uhh..be careful what you wish for? LOL UGH! I do not like this storyline at all and since they're not following the books I have no idea where they're going with it.
Otherwise, LOVED last night's episode! Eric with amnesia is priceless, so funny!
Bill was more tolerable with his Jessica talk and Pam kicked ass! "I will give you 24 hours to bring me what I want or I will personally eat, *uck and kill all three of you." - best of the night, other than Eric calling Sookie Snookie! Very Happy
Pam's line in last night's episode was great, but for me, when amnesiac Eric called Sookie "Snooki"--well, I will have to re-watch the episode in view of the fact that I missed several lines of dialogue because I was laughing so hard! Very Happy
And wasn't it nice to have Alcide back?? That's the good news--the bad news is that he's back with Debbie (huh?!?) and he didn't take his shirt off! Mad
As you can see from my previous posts, I never was a big Eric fan, but I have to say that I'm totally enamored with this version of him. Just the cutest bit of evolution, love all parts of this storyline! Although, I can't believe they killed off Claudine last week.
And let me tell you, when Alcide started to take off his shirt, I shouted "hallelujah!" Fortunately for me, I already had my paper fan at the ready! Wink
Thank goodness the whole Hot Shot spectacle is moving along. I just hope they wrap that aspect up. I couldn't care less what kind of storyline they come up with for Jason as a shifter as long as those creepsters aren't a part of it. I was all kinds of uncomfortable in that first scene with him still tied up. Eck, just eck.
Am I the only one that howls with laughter over the baby doll/Mikey story? I don't know if they're going for deliberate ridiculousness, but the juxtaposition of that sinister doll and the adorable baby is just too funny to me.
And just when I thought the Mickens were gone for good... Confused
I have stopped watching the whole show. I tape it and then just watch the Eric, Bill and Alcide segments with Sookie. I just don't like so many of the other segments.
The look on Eric's face when he listened to Bill and Sookie at the door upstairs had me wondering if his memory was coming back. (We might have a shower scene coming up!)
The local TV TV and Movie Gossip woman was at Comic-con this week. This is what is blogged about Eric or Alexander Skargard at a party on June 21.
Itís hard to miss him. Heís so tall. Especially in Hollywood where everyone is short. Wearing a black jacket and jeans. MUCH more attractive than heís been looking on True Blood lately. Plays with his hair a lot, keeps tucking it behind his ears. Women were throwing themselves at him. And what I mean by that is that you could see them looping the room, waiting for an opportunity to wedge themselves in. He was pretty friendly with everyone. And likes his Guinness. It looked like Guinness to me, and Dylan too, in that light. May have been another beer but it was definitely beer. And in the other hand a tumbler of something else. Skarsgard is a double fister.
Anyway, Kate Bosworth wasnít around. But for a while there, at least 20 minutes, Skarsgardís attention was focused on beautiful Emilia Clarke, the Khaleesi, from Game of Thrones. Iím a girl, and to this girlís eye, that girl was flirting. The people with me thought so too. Skarsgard did not seem to mind. Not just in a I like it when any girl flirts with me way but there was some chemistry happening there. Now they didnít end up in a corner together exclusively or anything, and I feel like she may have left early while her castmates stayed on, but they were cute when they were side by side.
Later on, Skarsgard was talking with Nikolaj Coster Waldau who was wearing the same thing and even though heís a few inches shorter it was a little bro down twinny which... not a bad sight. There was a really, really beautiful girl (brunette) that all of us were eyeballing all night though Ė no one famous Ė who had the two of them to herself for a while. It became a cluster that people couldnít help looking at, pure eye porn, and Iíve been wondering all day whether or not that girl went home alone. Because goddamn, she was spectacular.
Skarsgard was still in fine form by the time I left around 12:30am. Not sure if heíll be hittiní it as hard tonight.
