I just dowloaded The Heir from Amazon. Have to say that it is amazing that this book has 107 comments/reviews on Amazon. And most of them are quite favorable! Will be reading it soon. And yes...thank-you for mentioning it. _________________ "As you wish"

PWNN... thanks for the Melton heads up. I've been wanting to try her SEAL books. I need to go see which to start with!
I got the SEALed with a kiss book (Daughtridge) and have to say its pretty good so far but the SEAL part seems to be in name only. If you're looking for any action scenes pertaining to SEALS they aren't in this book. So far anyway. A good read though. A man trying to get through to his young son he's never really known. |

Hoo boy. Fictionwise 60% off all titles this weekend, ends tomorrow. Use spring60off. Can't confirm it works because I'm busy adding things to my cart. _________________ Jean AAR

A bargain for me....the first 4 books of the Tall Dark and Dangerous series by Suzanne Brockmann selling for a little over 5.00 on Amazon/kindle. It is a bundle in one download. _________________ "As you wish"

Oh my stars thanks for the code, I just added all the Kaylea Cross books to my cart and I'm still not done shopping. |
I've been using Fictionwise for all my Regency downloads: Joan Wolf, Allison Lane, Roberta Gellis, etc. etc. And there's an old Lois McMaster Bujold that I've never seen before.
So I grabbed 6 books for a grand total of just under $13. Yeah, the coupon works, and pretty sweet too. _________________ Jean AAR

Forgive me if any of these have already been posted. I skimmed, but may have missed. FYI: All prices apply to Kindle store. I assume they're comparable from other e-stores.
*** Loretta Chase has said she's going to release her backlist out of print books in e-format. This appears to be the first ...
Captives of the Night = $2.99
*** Candice Hern has released her old Signet regencies in ebook format. There are five so far and she's supposed to release Miss Lacey's Last Fling soon.
A Proper Companion = $0.99
An Affair of Honor = $2.99
A Change of Heart = $2.99
A Garden Folly = $2.99
The Best Intentions = $2.99
*** Colleen Gleason (author of the Gardella Chronicles) has two new Medieval romance books and a novella in ebook format for cheap:
Lavender Vows = $0.99
A Whisper of Rosemary = $3.99
Sancuary of Roses = $3.99
*** For western and/or mail-order bride fans ...
The Bride Wore Spurs by Sharon Ihle = $0.99 |

I have never ordered from Fictionwise. I love historical and contemporary romance, so what is good over there that I would enjoy? I also have a Nook. Do these e-books load up to Nook?

I've only recently started to order from Fictionwise, so I'm not extensively familiar with its catalogue. However, I have noticed two things:
- It doesn't really carry the new releases from big publishers. Since Fictionwise is a B&N company, I'm not surprised, because that would be counter-productive.
- The books are either Multiformat (ePUB, PDF, etc., i.e. NOOK-compatible) or Secure eReader, which I don't believe is NOOK-compatible. And a lot of the newer releases, are in Secure eReader formats.
I've got a NOOKColor, and I'm restricted to the Multiformat books - which actually restricts me a lot. However, most of the old Regency romances from aforementioned authors are Multiformat. I would start with "The American Duchess", by Joan Wolf, or "The Rake's Rainbow" by Allison Lane. I haven't scanned their contemporary selection. _________________ Jean AAR

Bizarrely Secure Ereader is supported on the Classic Nook though not the Color Nook (unless you rooted it then you can read almost anything with the right app)
One of the reasons B&N bought Fictionwise was their CreditCard/DRM scheme which they now use for the Nook which is what Secure Ereader uses. You side load it onto your Nook into your doc folder and open it by entering your CC# the way you would if you side loaded a NookBook.
It's a shame that Fictionwise's stock isn't what it used to be but it was hit hard by the Agency 5 publishers who wouldn't allow their books to be discounted and then other companies that sell there but also don't allow discounts like Samhain. And of course with B&N now owning it there's the competition issue. _________________ "My safe word is monkey"

Thanks to Anne Marble for indicating the free Mia Marlowe book on Amazon UK. I've never read her but downloaded it anyway. No point in turning down a free book.
Can anyone advise me if there is a section on Amazon UK that indicates free books. The thought of going through thousands of titles looking for 0.00 price sort of puts me off.
Many thanks
