[I was thinking the same Linda. In fact, I thought she may have had sex with someone during that weird Marianne thing. I don't think she was pregnant in the books. I just loaned them all out to my daughter's best friend's sister...LOL...so, I can't look it up. However, I'm pretty sure she is not pregnant and wondering who-the-father-is in the books.

Actually, during that weird Marianne thing, weren't she and Terri having sex? So maybe it really is Terri but she just doesn't remember it! LOL

Which is probably a good thing! That Marianne thing....one big orgy. And very strange.

I thought about Rene being the father but wasn't he too long ago for her to be 8 weeks pregnant? That was first season! LOL I'm trying to figure out the timeline between seasons.

I think the TV show debuted in the summer of 2008, but I'm not totally sure on that. The story timeline on the show, however, has only been about 3-4 months since the show started. Recall that at the end of Season 1, right after Rene was killed, they went right into the Maryann storyline b/c the Season 1 cliffhanger was that dead body in Andy's car, remember?

And Season 2 only took place over about a month or two's time. Sookie and Bill went to Dallas, they came back and bam, the end of the season orgy/sacrifice shindig. I think it's entirely possible that Arlene's baby is Rene's. I don't like that she lied to Terry about it if that's the case, I kinda like Terry. He's a little bit of a galoot, but such a lovable, well-meaning one!

jebe - I like Terry too, not good that Arlene lied to him. He's sanity has always been rather fragile.

there should be a new episode on tonight. Does the fact that I'm counting down mean I'm hooked? Cool

True Blood was nominated for best Drama for the Emmy's. No actor nods though. I think Erik should have gotten one at least for the episode he said goodbye to Godfried. My heart broke for him when he was crying in that other language.

Looking forward to tonight, oh yeah!

Holy Moses that was an episode last night, smokin'! I think I'm going to go back and rewatch that, so much going on. Boy we are really seeing a darker side to Bill this season, I can't decide now if I want to see Sookie with Eric or Alcide!

Claire - I didn't know they had an Emmy nod, that's great!

Linda... I can't believe how Bill talked to Sookie on the phone. And then the way he feasted on that girl. How can these vampires ever be redeemed? Aren't they always going to have to victimize fresh humans?

Is Tara a vampire now? I thought if someone was bit on the neck they became a vampire. That guy who kidnapped her is major creepie... with the flowers and the way he talks to her.

A repeat viewing is definitely in order. Eric's dream of Sookie. Whew! And I love that he dreamed she knew something about his childhood playing in the sea.

Claire, I know, poor Sookie! Though all the tissues was kind of cute, I think we've all been there at one point or another, lol. My take is that Bill had to speak like that to Sookie because Lorena was listening and he had to be sure she wouldn't come after him in order to keep her safe, and also to try and get her off their radar. Because I know he still loves her! Smile

As far as feasting on the girls, yeah I was thinking..don't do it Bill! But I think the smell of blood became just too much to resist. They don't have to victimize fresh humans, since the premise is that vampires can come out in the open now that True Blood (synthetic blood) has been invented. They can get their nourishment there. But I've read the author compare it to something along the lines of a carnivore that is eating a vegetarian diet, it can sustain them but they crave meat.

He is so creepy! The flowers, ugh, he taped them to her hands. No, Tara is not a vampire. You don't turn from a vampire bite, Bill has bitten Sookie many times during sex, he has also given her his blood to help heal her. I forget the specifics in this series but usually it's something along the lines of they have to be drained to near death and then given blood in return. Just a sip and it's ok. *G*

Wasn't that funny! I was watching and saying to myself..this is a dream, but is it Eric's or Sookie's? Then she ripped off her clothes and made a suggestive comment (forget now what it was) and I knew it was Erics. Smile

Linda... I really need to see season 1 don't I? Embarassed I've been watching and not understanding things but accepting them and hoping it would all become clear. Thank you for the explanation of the vampires and the synthetic blood. I see Lafayette is dealing the blood to regular humans... so it sounds like its a drug. Is it a feel good drug or like cocaine for energy? I love when they mention things like the American Vampire League like yeah thats just so normal!

I was wondering if Bill was saying those things to try and protect her. Now I like him more. Eric. Bill. Eric. Bill. Lucky Sooky! Here's a silly question: do the humans enjoy getting bit during sex? I saw Tara looking um very happy having sex with Mr Creepy. In all the shows I've watched, I haven't seen Bill and Sookie make love once.

Claire, you really do need season 1. Do you have Netflix? Or you can check Half.com or Ebay. It gives you a great background on the characters!

Yes, Lafayette deals vampire blood 'V' to humans, kind of interesting how they've made it a drug. I would say it's a feel good cocaine type drug that also makes you really horny, lol.

Yes, I do think they enjoy getting bitten during sex, they feel pain for a moment and then it turns into something else that supposed to be akin to orgasmic. Very Happy

The offer for season 2 still stands, they are just gathering dust. I wish I had season 1 on DVD so I could send it to you but I didn't record that one.

Linda... I've been watching season 2 based on your suggestions for good Eric episodes so I've been seeing them out of order.. I know.. I'm wacky but I saw 2.8 and 2.9 first then the reast of season 2. I can't remember if I went back and saw some of the earlier ones of S2 but I think I did. I'm glad I saw the two I did first because they got me hooked on the show. Thanks for the guidance there. Smile All of season 2 is on Demand so thats how I'm able to watch them but none of season 1 is there. I've been getting the tv show Extra with Ricky Gervais from Netflix to have something for my husband and I to watch together. After that, I'm going to get season 1 of TB. I wish they would just put season 1 on Demand.

Linda, I have a question. Smile The vamp that is with Tara. Was he in the book? I don't recall and cannot place him.
And didn't you think that Debbie was well cast? She is just how I pictured her in the book.

Yeah, I thought Debbie was spot on!

As for Franklin (is that his name?) I want to say that he was in the books, that he dated Tara and got a little crazy and then someone had to call Eric or something to get rid of him? I can't remember which book.

And mabye I'm making all that up and it happened in my imagination? Smile

You get an "A" for memory Linda! Now I remember Franklin. And yes, I remember Eric being called in to get rid of him. I don't remember Tara being so afraid of him though, do you?

I don't think he was that bad in the books, just stood outside her house or something? I feel like I need a reread but I don't know where to start!
