I just finished the third book Club Dead. I'm on the waiting list at the library for the 4th book, it'll be fun to have read it b/f the season starts. So far, I've seen the show b/f reading the books. Although, I think the show only follows a loose interpretation of the books.
OT, during this off season of True Blood, I've been watching The Vampire Diaries. It really doesn't captivate me like TB, but it suits my vamp fix! It's very interesting the different takes on paranormal each series takes. The other day I said to my niece "why doesn't she just rescind his invitation?" and along w/a pointed, disgusted look she said "you're mixing show lores up!" Thank God kids know so much more than us, ya know? _________________ Why put off til tomorrow what you can put off until next week? |

Yes! It's fun how each show has its own mythology and how things work. I watch T.V.D. too and I keep wishing Elena could just do a blanket "take back" sometimes and rescind invitations when she needs to. Or get an apartment of her own, LOL.
They have it much easier on True Blood, you can just yell that you rescind the invitation and the Vampire gets blown back out the door.
I remember on Buffy when Angel went bad for a while they needed a spell to revoke invitations involving crucifixes and Poor Willow was hiding them in her room so she wouldn't have to explain to her Dad, "Ira Rosenberg" why his daughter had crucifixes up in her room, LOL. I always wondered how he took to her becoming a pagan later on. |

I need to try TVD again, when I started the first season it seemed very young to me so I had a hard time with it. I hear it gets better though.
In the Anita Blakes you can rescind an invitation as well, I have a vague memory of Jean Claude being pulled out of her house.

I think that's why I don't find it as captivating as TB, it's very much aimed at a younger audience...it'll do for now, though. Let's face it, none of those young guys could pull off a teal sweater like Eric! And fuhgeddabowt tryin to compete w/Alcide, he's in a league all his own! _________________ Why put off til tomorrow what you can put off until next week? |

ChrisReader, I think the Rosenbergs had quite a lot to digest in their little Willow as the years went on! And I still think Buffy was way ahead of its time w/regards to lore: the disintegrating into ash of vampires alone was pretty unique. _________________ Why put off til tomorrow what you can put off until next week? |

FYI for all you Alcide lovers- I just opened the latest Cosmopolitan magazine and there is an interview and picture spread in it of Joe Manganiello.
It also has a two page fold out mini-poster of him shirtless! LOL
I guess the ladies here aren't the only ones who like looking at him, so if anyone needs a little "artwork" for their walls you may want to consider picking up a copy |

I haven't bought a copy of Cosmo in years, but I might make an exception and pick up the latest. _________________ "As you wish"

The actress that plays Jessica posted about this on Facebook, it's Clue Dead signed by the cast. Pretty cool!
Facebook post -
Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica from True Blood)
Last day to bid on this book SIGNED by TRUE BLOOD CAST and ALAN BALL and CHARLAINE HARRIS for the Choroideremia Research Foundation. Choroideremia is an eye disease that causes blindness. Deb's boyfriend and some of his family members have it. Thank you!!!

If I had money to spend on such things I'd be tempted.

For True Blood fans, they started showing season 3 last night at 8pm and they are continuing tonight at 8.
I signed up for hbo emails and before Christmas I got one that had the Merlots tshirt- the one with the green logo on the top right (apron included ) on sale. DH was asking what I wanted for Christmas and I told him that would be something I would want but would never buy for myself. I am now the proud owner of a Merlots waitress outfit. I actually really like it! I told him to get an XL because they wear theirs so tight and I want something that I can wear after I wash it- I'm afraid it will shrink. I wore it on Christmas day. Nothing says holiday spirit like a vampire inspired tshirt. Oh, and he got me seasons 1 and 2 on dvd- that suprised me! |

Awwwwww, what a great hubby you have there! I love having them on DVD, my and my daughter pull them out and watch them all the time. I think season 3 should be shipping soon?
I unsubscribe to HBO when the True Blood season ends, then start it back up when it starts a new season..
