I found the original ending daring and strangely fitting. |
From the spoilers here, I think I much prefer the British ending - seems a lot more logical and appropriate, if quite a bit bleaker. Makes me want to watch both just for comparison purposes - apart from that ending, I take it that the US version was pretty similar to the original? Is it worth watching even if you've seen the UK version?

I hated seasons 6 and 7 of Buffy but have ranted on that subject quite enough! Firefly's last episode was good - in fact, the whole series was fantastic - but no wrap up . SERENITY was a surprisingly good film which I thought was basically just made for the fans and nothing wrong with that.
Oh, have another great wrap up - when they go over the top at the end of BLACKADDER GOES FORTH. Sorry to the Americans if this is turning out to be the British TV series thread, but that was a fantastic if utterly heartbreaking ending: I was almost in tears. I don't think anything could really have topped it. Ah, Blackadder, we loves you forever... _________________ "Socialism to help sick people - bad.

I watched both versions. Although a few of the US episodes’ basic plots (and at times some of the dialogue) were based on the UK episodes, there were always changes in the B and C storylines. So, for instance in the episode with the serial killer/swingers the UK version featured make-up salesladies and in the US version the victims were airline stewardesses and Sam went undercover as a pilot. Also, not all of the US episodes were based on UK episodes. Each version was quite likable. And despite the same character names and basic plot (modern day cop stuck in the 70's), the series are actually quite different IMO.
Personally, I did not care for the end of either version. The UK version’s ending ticked me off much more so than the US version, but perhaps I was more prepared for the disappointment with the US version. |

Roswell is one of my favourites series, I re-watch it every few months...I liked the ending.
I came late to the series Firefly...rented Serenity on impulse (knowing nothing of Firefly) and loved it...thanks goodness Firefly was on DVD by then.

I agree! Great ending, but emotional. |
