A read a book a couple of years ago and I can't for the life of me remember the title or the author.
It was a western, and I THINK it was set in Montana, but I'm not sure. It could have been set in North or South Dakota.
The heroine lives off by herself, and disguises herself so people think she isn't pretty.
Trying to remember more. Seems like there was an old man who saved her, and everyone thinks she's his wife or mistress or something? But she never was?
I remember the hero gets caught in a storm and ends up at her cabin where she takes care of him and nurses him back to health. And they get snowed in?
The villain was related to the heroine somehow (brother?) and he was gay, but keeping it a secret. He was trying to kill the heroine I believe.
Oh, and I think there was a hot guy on the cover, perhaps shirtless?
I know this isn't much to go on, lol, but does any of this ring a bell for someone?

Another thing I just remembered: I think the villain hired some guys to beat the hero up and they leave him for dead, and that's how the heroine finds him.

This is one I actually knew and you answered yourself before I could chime in!  I remembered because I thought it was really good, though when I picked up others in the series I felt they were only average. |
