My B&N already had this and I read it over the weekend and I really disliked this book. Which makes me sad to say because I love quite a few of her previous contemporary erotic romances. But this new one - Hart went off the rail with it somehow. First off it compares very poorly with Hart's other menage story Tempted. In Tempted while all three characters were flawed and were making choices that were bound to end in heart break I understood their motivations and why the married couple took up with the sexual interloper. And most importantly I cared for all the parties in the menage and I wished them all well.
In The Space Between Us I never warmed up to either Tesla or Charlie (I thought she was a moron and he a weak-willed milk toast) and I disrespected both of them for being so in thrall to Meredith for so long, a toxic bitch and people user. I hated the character of Meredith to the point of not wanting to read the sections she is in and since she is in so much of the book that pretty much ruined the book for me.
Sometimes it's fun reading a book and spending time with a fictional bastard or bitch but Meredith is about as much fun as a root canal.
So now I am thinking fondly back to Tempted which is so much more subtle and sexier and touching and heart breaking. |

I am not a fan of menage plots. I didn't enjoy Tempted.
Megan Hart is generally an auto-buy author for me, but I think give this one a miss. Thanks for the heads up! |

| Thank you for the warning. I liked Tempted, but that was the only book of hers that I liked. I tried several others but always skipped to read the end first. I do not consider Hart a romance writer, as so many of her books ended in a way I did not like. |

I agree with you that Hart isn't a romance writer - for one her books, the ones I have read at least, don't have HEAs. Her books tend to end with relationships in a state of change, or uncertainty, or sometimes like in Broken at the beginning of a relationship. I think Dirty comes the closest to a traditional HEA. |
