I'm trying to find the title of a book that was probably released in the early 90's. It's a Native American story that involves a group of special warriors within a tribe that are actually women. One of these women is supposed to "retire" from the group of warriors and marry another member of the tribe. However, a visiting man (not sure if he's Native American or white) comes to the tribe and, upon spying her in the lake and discovering she's a woman, falls in love with her. I can't remember if the woman is Native American or a white woman adopted into the tribe as a child. Any help would be appreciated.
