I didn't think her comments about Israel were so bad, did you? She merely expressed openly what everybody is trying to achieve through diplomacy--or at least that's the way I interpreted her remarks.

I think it was more here mode of expression that was objected to. Personally, I disagree with her opinion on the matter because there is more to the issue than Israel getting "the hell out of Gaza". However, I respect her right to her opinion, I just think she could have expressed it better and preserved her legacy as a legendary Whitehouse correspondent. I take this line with anyone whether I agree or disagree with their opinion. There is a proper manner for each forum one uses to express opinions. In Helen Thomas' case, she spoke as if she was talking to a gathering of friends in a bar instead of being questioned by television news.
