WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS
I recently finished Plea of Insanity and was wondering what people thought!
What did you think about David's sanity? I definately thought she intentionally obfuscated the issue. There were passages were you definately thought he was sane and others that implied he really was insane.
Does anyone know anything about a possible sequel? I think there has to be one, especially with those murders with the similar MO. Otherwise all of that would've been pretty superfluous.
What did you think of Julia's schizophrenia? As soon as the Jesus at Andrew's funeral started praying with her I knew she was in trouble.
What did you think of Plea compared with Retribution and Last Witness? Does anyone know if there will be anothe CJ Townsend? As far as I remember, there were definately still open issues at the end of Last Witness?
I'm looking forward to hear what other people thought! |

Hi TMS! I haven't read Plea of Insanity yet, I'm just starting Retribution...give me a couple of weeks and I'll catch up. I know I got the Hoffman recommendation here so I hope someone can join the discussion. |

I don't believe Plea of Insanity is yet available for purchase in the US. For some reason, it only sold in the UK and elsewhere, but withheld from US shelves. Retribution and Last Witness were excellent books, but I don't think her third one ranked as high overseas as her first two books.
Does anyone know why this book can't be purchased here yet? What sort of reasons would hold it back after coming out in other countries?

It is not out yet in the U.S.; I ordered mine via amazon.com/uk back around Christmas.
I think it is due to be released here in a few months (can't recall exact date).
I have been unable to read it as yet due to reading The Winter Rose, but plan on reading POI next. |

OK, I finished this novel today and am stunned and....confused.
It blew me away emotionally. IMO, it was as emotionally and psychologically intense as Retribution, but in a different way.
I hope, TMS and Margaret, you can chime in on the defendant's sanity.
I THINK that maybe he was, then maybe he wasn't...then there was the issue of the other murders.
I really would recommend this book for its handling of difficult and unusual subject matter both in the courtroom and in characterizations. The romantic subplot was good also...very emotional and believable. I cried several times.
I need a sequel. |
