What are your favorite books so far this year?
Mine so far include" I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella a contemporary with humor and romance, Breathe by Kristen Ashley (I went on a huge K.A. glom and it was hard to pick my favorite between Mystery Man, Motorcycle Man and Breathe), The Governess Affair, a historical by Courtney Milan, and Her Best Worst Mistake by Sarah Mayberry. |

| Beautiful Bad Man by Ellen O'Connell, Defiant by Pamela Clare and Dragon Ship by Lee and Miller. This surprised me when I looked at my DIK list because I've been on such a mystery glom the past couple of months. My favorite mystery was Kindness Goes Unpunished by Craig Johnson (a Longmire book)--copyright 2007. I am about 1/3 through The Anatomist's Wife, which is so far a DIK. |

| Since Gone Girl is the only title that immediately springs to mind when someone asks this type of question, that is my favorite read of 2012. |

| Thanks for the recommendation. Really enjoying Sophie Kinsella's "I've Got Your Number." Lighthearted fun, done well. Any similar recommendations, contemporary or historical? |

Sandlynn: I also loved I've Got Your Number.
I would recommend The Summer of Living Dangerously by Julie Cohen although it's not as light-hearted and the title is somewhat unsuitable IMO.
It was one of my favourite reads this year.
My favourite 2012 released favourite reads:
Fifty Shades Freed by L James
I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
The Summer of Living Dangerously by Julie Cohen
Beguiling the Beauty by Sherry Thomas
My favourite books I read in 2012 other than those released this year:
Lady Elizabeth's Comet by Sheila Simonson [I highly recommend this top-notch trad Regency]
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Maguire [first 3/4 of the book was A-, the last quarter a C]
Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
Broken by Megan Hart
Cecily by Clare Darcy
The Marriage of Inconvenience by Diana Campbell [the last two - trad Regencies]
Slightly Scandalous by Mary Balogh
The Defiant Hero by Suzanne Brockmann
Arabella by Georgette Heyer
Slightly Dangerous by Mary Balogh |

Fifty Shades of Grey - E. L. James
If I Were You - Lisa Renee Jones
Easy - Tammara Webber
Motorcycle Man - Kristen Ashley
What's going on with Fallen From Grace suddenly getting attention? One of my favorites but it's been out for years.

| I saw a few mentions of Edenbrooke and so I decided to check it out and so glad I did. It was so romantic, love letters, poems, twirling. I was discouraged by the price, $9.59 for kindle, for a debut author. IMO the price was worth it. I see she has a new book coming out, hopefully in Spring 2013 called Blackmoore and I don't think its related to Edenbrooke. I look forward to her next book but hope it isn't as expensive! |
