| I really, REALLY hate it when I say something incredibly stupid, ignorant, and potentially hurtful to people. As it turned out in Rhode Island, we had a lot of damage to houses (no deaths in the state, I don't think) and property, although we only got winds of about 40 MPH and only a couple of inches of rain. I just got power back on last night, and I know that I am one of the lucky ones. The poor, poor people in the rest of the areas hit by this terrible storm. |

Lynda, you're being much too hard on yourself. There's probably not a one of us who hasn't rolled their eyes at one time or another on how the public overreacts to weather phenomenon. Unfortunately in this case, there was just cause.
I'm heartbroken for my fellow Jerseyans and the surrounding areas for all that's been destroyed. The important thing, though, is the resilience of the human spirit.
Let the record show that this NJ teacher is so very proud of our governor. He's shown leadership, compassion and strength. I'm seriously thinking about voting for him...!

Lynda, we've all done the same thing before, I agree that you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. Glad to hear you are safe and the power is back on!
