I know I have read several books where the main character has a stroke but have you ever read a book where the main character has epilepsy?
Any recommendations would be very welcome!
Thanks!

| I have a vague recollection that the hero of MJP's 'Dearly Beloved' was epileptic. That is the only book I can think of and since one of my sibs has epilepsy, it tends to be something I notice. |

Thanks. I will have to check that out. I am really surprised at how few books there are with this as an issue.

Not romance, but with strong romantic threads, is the Vorkosigan series (interstellar SF) by Lois McMaster Bujold. Due to medical consequences of his adventures, Miles has to deal with seizures in some of the later books. This is my list of the whole series (not all books feature Miles):
bujold, lois mcmaster
series
falling free
shards of honor
barrayar
the warrior's apprentice
borders of infinity
the vor game
cetaganda
ethan of athos
brothers in arms
mirror dance
memory
komarr
a civil campaign
diplomatic immunity
the mountains of mourning
captain vorpatril's alliance
cryoburn
A blurb search for "epilep" in my copy of BYRON only found a few romances, and only one of them mentions epilepsy in connection with h or h:
THE MASTER's PLAN; LaVerne St. George; 10/2000; Rom/C/Insp |

Yes, both father and son in Putney's Dearly Beloved have epilepsy.
I know I've read more (and I've read several in m/m romance) but can't recall the titles.
Two others I haven't read but recall the tiles (go figure) that have epileptic heroes:
The Love Child ~ Catherine Cookson
Mistress of the Night ~ Charlotte Featherstone _________________ "My safe word is monkey" |

Funny, Dearly Beloved was the first book that came to my mind, but then I second guessed myself and thought no, they had asthma. Now I'm wondering which historical romance has asthma... _________________ "I say, don't read the classics -- try to discover your own classics; every life has its own." -- Rudolf Flesch, _How to Make Sense_ |

Doesn't Michael in Thunder and Roses have asthma? _________________ When in doubt, read. |

Maybe you were thinking of Connie Brockway's My Dearest Enemy. Hero is asthmatic as is his young cousin. _________________ "My safe word is monkey" |

Michael's book is actually Shattered Rainbows, and yes, he's the one with the asthma. _________________ I also post elsewhere as Janine or Janine Ballard |
