| I like BREATHE a lot. The hero is not as controlling or as intense as in KNIGHT, for example. I also liked the heroine. If you read the beginning and you like it, I think you'd like the whole book. Of course, it has some of the usual Kristen Ashley writing habits: the hero's F bombs, the heroine who needs her posse to go shopping, the endangerment of the heroine, but the hero is sweeter (once he gets over "I'm not good enough for her") stupidity, which he does pretty quickly. |

I am reading Mystery Man now, right after coming off a very serious suspense novel, and I'm really enjoying it. This book is just what I needed. I've only read KNIGHT by this author, and am liking MM so much more.

Ive' read the complete Colorado men series and enjoyed it but not sure where to go from there. I've also been doing some heavy reading and looking for something easy. Maybe I'll try Mystery Man. |

| After reading the Colorado Mtn series, I read the 'Burg series then the Dream Man series. After those, I read Playing It Safe, Heaven and Hell then Knight. THEN I started the Rock Chick series, and they should have been read first. The "Hot Guys" from Rock Chick make appearances in almost all of her other books. Not all together but usually one or two at a time. The Rock Chicks are kind of hard to describe. You just have to go along for the ride, LOL. The side characters (and I do mean characters!) could each have their own books. I'm a big fan of Kristen Ashley. |

I like it so far. I've only read Knight, and this one is different, in a good way.

Xina, I get you! LOL Definitely a Steph Plum infuence, I was telling a friend via email about this book when I first read it and that's how I described the humor, though not as whacky. She was so funny with the cookie dough, I was craving it for days, haha

Yes! Now, I'm not that far into the book, but her observation of the 3 guys and how they are all attracted to her...very Stephanie. And the cookie dough, I thought she was going to make cookies, but just eating it from the bowl, and then giving it to the police officers. LOL.

Finished Mystery Man. Should I go on to Law Man or just skip to Motorcyle Man. Seems to be a popular book among readers.
I liked Mitch in MM...hero in Law Man. I haven't seen many comments about that book. Good, or no?

| It depends on what kind of hero you want. Yes, the Kristen Ashley's heroes are very similar, but LAW MAN is much more supportive, a little more beta and sweet than either hero of MYSTERY MAN or MOTORCYLE MAN who are both pretty rough. |

Good point, I think this is why I didn't find Law Man as 'thrilling' as Mystery Man and Motorcycle Man.
For anyone that has read most of her books, is there any one in which the heroine has to do the hero convincing as far as a relationship goes? Not just a token amount at the beginning but as a main plot event? I've read 5 of her books now and I'm seeing a definite pattern of the hero having to convince the heroine to commit to a serious relationship. Knight was the only one that didn't follow this but not really her doing any convincing either.

 I am enjoying her books despite the numerous editing issues and despite her heroes pretty much all being Troglodytes steam rolling over heroines who tend to arrested development and who can't seem to keep their legs from spreading when one of those guys goes "Babe" or "Baby". And the average Ashley heroine says "Um" and "Oh Boy" a lot - usually about something the hero has just said or done.
I am reading "Wild Man" now and the hero in that so far needs a swift kick in the testicles and the heroine needs to grow a backbone.
But then there has always been a big difference between what I will tolerate in a fictional man and what I would put up with in real life. |

LOL...I am reading through this thread, because I am ADDICTED to this author right now. Can't explain it, but oh well! Currently, I am reading Wild Man.
You feel me? Yeah???? I think I read another post where the comment was that the heroine says..."sorry?" She does it a lot, but I love her anyway. I've read 3 Ashley books and they all say "later baby". Is that a nod to James, or were these books written before the popularity of FSoG?
