The book that I'm thinking about is a contemporary novel. The one thing that I vividly remember about the book is that the hero is a police officer and there is a funny running joke about him looking for a cup of coffee and running into situations that make it impossible to get one....like going to a convenience store and interrupting a robbery.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
