Today I bought this book at a UBS. I'd like to read it because (1) I haven't read any contemp romance published in 2012 other than Fifty Shades Freed and (2) this is a new to me author.

I know it is book 4 of a series. Can I read it and more or less enjoy it without having read the previous three books?

I feel the Lucky Harbor books can be read as standalones.

Agree. They are tied together, but loosely. And this second trilogy is clearly delineated from the previous one. You should be fine.

Lucky in Love starts the second trilogy of Lucky Harbor books. The first 3 Lucky Harbor books are about a set of sisters. They're mentioned in the Lucky in Love but don't appear. The second set of Lucky Harbor books are set around a group of friends who meet for chocolate cake at the local diner. Several supporting characters make appearances in all of the books but you don't have to read them in order.
