|
|
| I used to read mainly historical's but I needed a change so I decided to give paranormal's a try. I found that I really enjoy them and am looking for some recommendations for which one's to try next. I really like J.R. Ward's Brotherhood series and Nalini Singh so recommendations for other similar authors would be great. I prefer books that focus primarily on the love story between the hero/heroine as opposed to getting bogged down in other sub-plots or world building (I didn't like Wards Fallen Angel series because I felt the loves story was more of a sub-plot). |

Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series is very popular and the worldbuilding/romance balance is just right.
Another good recommendation would be Marjorie M. Liu's Dirk and Steele series. _________________ http://corabuhlert.com

Check out series by Dana Marie Bell, Annette Blair, Meljean Brook, Thea Harrison, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Angela Knight, Shelly Laurenston, Cindy Spencer Pape, Lynsay Sands, Kerrelyn Sparks, and Christine Warren.
Fantastic Fiction is a good site to check book & series lists by author:

You might like the Mercedes Thompson series and the Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs. The A&O series is more romance oriented with the same couple in each book. The Mercy series has romance in it but not right away, and it is more urban fantasy than romance. They both take place in the same world.
You might also like Jayne Castle's Ghost Hunter books. Under other names she has written more paranormal stuff, including some historical paranormals. |

Ilona Andrews - Kate Daniels books (urban fantasy with strong romance
theme)
I heard the other series is even more of a romance. |

The Edge books are definitely romances. I'm not a big fan of urban fantasy romances, but after the opening scene of On the Edge I had to finish the book. _________________ Binocular vision, no need to hop, and an ever-so-much easier time of it climbing ladders.

| Jennifer Ashley's Shifters Unbound series is good and features a new couple in each book. The world building is unique, and the romance is not short changed. The first book is Pride Mates. |
