Does anyone know if she (Judith James) has a new book in the pipes?

I don't think there is an entry yet for "Hers at Midnight" on Amazon which is probably why link doesn't properly associate from FF. The author's website describes the forthcoming book as follows:
| Quote: |
Bastard son of a disgraced nobleman, the highwayman Gentleman Jack wants nothing to do with his father’s heritage, choosing instead to prey on the wealthy aristocracy that spawned his brutal sire and he holds responsible for his mother’s death. Soon he and his black horse are famed the length of England as he takes greater risks to fuel a thrill grown old.
Although she comes from the world he despises, the travel writer Arabella Hamilton is a misfit and daredevil too. When circumstances bring them together the sparks ignite, but both will learn it can be easier to take risks with one’s person than with one’s heart. |
I don't yet see a publishing date more specific than 2012 which makes me think it wouldn't come out till latter part of the year if it happens on schedule. |

Oh dear! I'm crossing my fingers that's just a typo and it should really be November 2012. November seems far enough away but I can deal. November 2013 is simply unacceptable |

Would they even be listing it yet if the publishing date was that far in the future? Hopefully it is a mistake.
I wish they would give "Broken Wing" a better looking cover. I always thought the cover awful and would have never read the book had it not been for some enthusiastic recommendations. |

Broken Wing is one of my absolute favorite books. I am glad to see it mentioned again. I will buy her next offering.....no matter how long I have to wait.[/quote] _________________ gypsy

jaime, I so agree with you about the cover of Broken Wing; the book itself is one of the best romance novels I've ever read, but that cover. . .!
And I also hope that Ms. James' new novel will be out this year, rather than in 2013. Good romance writing, especially as done by Ms. James is a very valuable commodity! _________________ "Have fun storming the castle"--Miracle Max in "The Princess Bride" |

| According to her Facebook page, Ms. James just finished Hers At Midnight yesterday and she says it probably will be released in 2013. Another interesting tidbit is the title she gave it was The Highwayman - Hers At Midnight was Harlequin's choice. |

Thanks for all the information others have posted on this topic. I'm a huge fan of Judith James's writing, and have been haunting her website for more information on "Hers at Midnight" (or "The Highwayman"...hmm like that) ever since the release of "The King's Courtesan". No pressure, Judith! Her writing and the research it involves must take time, and are worth the wait. Still, Harlequin Folks, sooner is better than later if she's finished it!
I thought other fans might be interested in this cover for HAM/TH that I came across in my most recent search on this topic:
http://www.bookdepository.com/Hers-at-Midnight-Judith-James/9780373776931
As you'll notice, I was searching on the book's ISBN.
Let's see.
Author says she's done writing. (check).
Book has an ISBN. (check).
Cover art done. (check)
Sounds like November 2012 is reasonable to hope for...though everything I can find says November 2013 too.
Fingers crossed for 2012! |
