Hi! I need help finding a historical romance that I remember loving, but I can't think of the title or the author for the life of me.
The main female character walks with a limp. She finds a little girl and a baby walking on a sidewalk and she takes them to the man she thinks is their father. He's their uncle, raising them because their parents have died. The little girl says she is a poor, motherless child. I remember that the main character pours a glass of water over the little girl's head in a moment of frustration because of the girl's complaints/bad behavior.
The main character thinks she can't ever have children because of the injury that makes her limp, but then she has a baby with no problem.
I will be so grateful if you can help me! Thank you.

Could it be Hazard by Jo Beverley?
ETA: Oh, never mind. It's not that. Sorry. |

| Manda, I think that's it! Thank you so much! And Anne, your suggestion sounds like a really good book, too. I'm going to check it out. Thanks! |

No problem! That's one of my favorite books of all time. And I loved that the kids weren't little angels:) _________________ Manda Collins |
