“Drew in Blue” by J.M. Kelley is free right now on Amazon. This is listed as a romance and there is a romance, but the charming part of the story is the developing relationship with the hero (who tells the story in the first person) and his infant son.

The baby is left with Drew when his druggie ex-girlfriend decides she can’t cope with motherhood anymore and that Drew would be the better parent. Considering that Drew is a thirty six year old man/boy who has never really had to grow up, that says a lot.

I don’t think this book would be everyone’s cup of tea, but it was one of those Amazon freebies that pleasantly surprised me.

Doreen Owens Malek's "The Panther and the Pearl" is free today on Amazon. I have not read the book, but in 1999 it was rated DIK here on AAR. (The book was originally published in 1994.)

Lynne Connolly: Yorkshire [#1 in her Richard & Rose series]

FREE courtesy of Samhain @ B&N, Amazon (Canada & UK as well). Sony and Kobo will probably follow.

I just bought the Richard and Rose series (4 books) by Lynne Connolly from the kobo site. All the coupons(from retailmenot) worked so I spent a total of $12. I've heard such good things about this series.

Thanks for the codes! I just bought Love is a Battlefield, which I'd been wanting to get.

Hope Tarr's early novel Tempting is .99 on Nook (and probably on Amazon, too).

Some of Elizabeth Mansfield's books are $4.00 or so on both sites (if you like the old Signet Classics).

Here's a cross-post from another thread (and I should have posted it earlier - a thousand pardons):

Alicia Rasley's wonderful Regency "Poetic Justice" features a super-hot hero who goes all over the world procuring rare manuscripts, and a heroine whose family owns a library of rare books.

Hurry, hurry -- it's free at Amazon right now:
