HEAR! HEAR to Jean's review of this book. I'm in a reading challenge and a couple of months ago, no fewer than 5 other challengers happened to all pick this one unbeknownst to the others and all of them loved it. And although I've read it numerous times myself and have been URGING fellow romance readers that they simply HAVE to read this breathtaking book, of course the urge for another reread took over and I had no choice but to obey the urge. And I fell in love with it all over again.

As Jean saya in her review, Conor's Way IS the standard for all Early American romance. I was thrilled to see the review here so that a much larger audience can read about this wonderful book. Conor is a hero to die for if one is a fan of the tortured hero. And again as Jean says, thank goodness for ebooks. I know this one was very hard to find in print version. I myself have 3 copies; two print versions as I've worn through one and the eversion.

I can't recommend this book high enough and I'm so glad to see Jean feels the same now Smile

I love hearing reviews of older books that I've missed over the years. I've never read this author and after your's and AAR's review, I've grabbed this one up quickly for my kindle! Can't wait to start it. I especially love this time period too!

I LOVED this book! I paid $25 Plus shipping (!) which I never, ever do, and consider it money well spent. Conor's speech rhythm is so good, so Irish, that you hear the brogue. I loved his changes, his eventual commitment, and I just ADORED the final resolution of what seems to be an impossible, everything-stacked-against-you situation. Great hero and heroine. Great history reflection.

Thanks so much for reviewing this outstanding book. I found a copy at a UBS during my first year of reading romance novels and remember being so involved in the story. The author penned a gem. It is one of my favorite books. I have a digital copy, but my paperback copy is safely stored away. Good reading memories.

I am so glad this book is once again available and that AAR reviewed it so more readers will get to fall in love with Conor, as I did. One of the best.

I spent around $20 plus shipping for this one. It was a few years back, and everyone told me they loved it. It was a little hard to track down, but at the time it was worth the money. I was a little irritated when this came out for the kindle for so cheap after I went to all the trouble and paid the money for the print book.

I picked this one up from Amazon when it was on sale for $0.99. I've never read anything by Ms. Gurkhe before but figured for $.99 you can't really go wrong. It was one of my favorite historical now, great story, great characters and great writing. I wish more authors can write stories like that these days, but too bad its more duds than fabs. I also picked up Julie Anne Long's To Love a Thief for $.99 (still is I think), its also a wonderful read.

I totally agree with Jean's review, and give a big Amen to her "Thank God for digital publishing, and authors willing to make the transition."

I can't believe some of the wonderful "old" books that I have finally been able to read since I purchased my ereader last year, "Conor's Way" being one of them. (And at such bargain prices. Whoopee!)

Vol Fan, I hope you check in once you've read and let us know how you liked it. I can't imagine any romance reader not loving it, though of course that does happen from time to time *g*.

I haven't read this author for a while now, but her older books are among some of my favourite and Conor's Way my favourite of all of them. Everything about it is just about perfect.

Kristie, I am about 1/2 way into it and I am loving it! It makes me think of old skool Lavyrle Spencer books. It is reminding me of Hummingbird and Morning Glory. Are any of her others this good?? If so, I will be on the hunt for them!

I'm a big fan of this author anyway, but her earlier books are wonderful...Breathless, To Dream Again, Prelude To Heaven and The Seduction.

VolFan – I'm excited to hear your enjoying it!! 'Tis wonderful isn't it? I’m a big fan of Lavryle Spencer too Smile For me, there is a real dividing line with this author and it breaks my heart. There were her books PreAvon and her books AfterAvon. Her PreAvon books are wonderful, many of them Xina mentioned, Conor’s Way of course,
To Dream Again, another real winner,
Breathless, (which is also very similar to Lavryle Spencer’s style)
Not So Innocent,
Prelude to Heaven,
The Seduction
These were all different, different settings, all unique.

Then she started writing for Avon and as with SO MANY other Avon authors it was all about the Duke’s and the Earls and the Marquis etc, nothing to make them special or stand apart from any number of Avon writers. Yes, they were still good, better than many, but very, very generic. I quit her after 4 books in her AfterAvon books. I want different and unique and her books, in comparison to her earlier ones, just weren’t cutting it for me anymore.

So, Id’ say check the publisher and if it was before she moved, then you are in for something different and I recommend them highly.
