Hi everyone
I know..i know...All of you must have read all of her books by now...*feels sheepish*...and I have read just one...yup just one book of hers...Dreaming of you...and I loved it...but later my obsession with virgin heroes began and I forgot all about her..but I realised that i was missing great books by being too selective....so I need your recommendation, suggestions as to what book I should read of hers...
But since I am making a transition from virgin heroes....i dont want the heroes to be like rogues or rakes, man slut or such...i hope you get what I mean... |

Lady Sophia's Lover and Worth Any Price. They're connected books - I haven't read WAP but I believe the hero has had one long-term mistress. |

I really enjoyed her Wallflower series:
Secrets of Summer Night
It Happened One Autum (my fave in the series)
Devil in Winter
And my favorite series from Lisa Klepyas The Hathaways.
Simply for the couple Leo and Marks, but the series is good as well with the family interactions that you will adore. But my favorite couple are shown from the second book to their own Married by Morning. You really should read the series in order because if you don't you miss out on the build of Lord Ramsey and Marks.
In order is:
Mine til Midnight
Seduce me at Sunrise (This is where you meet Marks as well)
Tempt me at Twighlight
Married by Mourning (Leo and Marks)
Love in the Afternoon
Enjoy them all. _________________ Romance my favorite reading pastime. |

I love Lisa Kleypas's books, almost to the point of squeeing fangirl status. I have really enjoyed all her books, so I'd recommend any of them. My favorite historical of hers is Suddenly You.
Also if you are open to it, her contemporaries are good as well. I particularly enjoyed Sugar Daddy, which I think gets more of a mixed reaction than her other books in the Travis series. That book resonated for me for some reason, and I just love it. _________________ She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain. -Louisa May Alcott |

I agree. And they happen to be the first Kleypas books I read. LSL makes a lot of "top" lists. WAP was my first Kleypas (out of order) and the hero's one tutor/mistress was a madam but he is no rogue; you'll have to read it to see how, but know it's hot. Whatever you choose, have a great time! |

Sorry, but I'm going to have to chip in on a dissenting note. If the original poster is asking for heroes who are not rogues, rakes, or man sluts, then I think that most books are off the list. Not that they're not good, but chaste or restrained these heroes are not. St. Vincent (Devil in Winter) is a man slut (and for the record, this is my #1 favourite book by LK). Leo Ramsey (Married by Morning) is another. And while not all are promiscuous, the vast, vast majority have a hefty dose of experience.
My list for non-rakish/less-experienced Kleypas heroes:
Lady Sophia's Lover
Worth Any Price
Seduce Me at Sunrise (not my favourite, but the best of the Hathaway series)
Then Came You
There may be others, but they don't stand out at the moment. I have to say, full disclosure, that the Hathaway series more or less put me off the author for a while.
Also, I haven't read them, but it sounds like her new contemporary series starting with Rainshadow Road has some "normally" experienced heroes. Additionally, they seem to represent quite a departure from her usual 1% heroes. _________________ Jean AAR

Sorry Jean AAR I disagree that Leo Ramsey is a man slut etc.
I think that while he was a flirt he was never shown bed hopping or being a true rake in that sense. It was talked about but never shown and most of the series he's hurt by losing his first love.
I don't think he's quite of that category in the sense that the OP will be offended to read about him.
Even in Devil in Winter once they are in their own book they aren't the man slut they once were and it's about the heroine so it's not something you will have to contend with in their story. There is a difference with having a dark/wild past and being a current rake/rouge etc. _________________ Romance my favorite reading pastime. |

FWIW, Devil in Winter is my favorite Kleypas book too, but St. Vincent has to be redeemed from some serious "stuff" even more than being a rogue, so I didn't think he met the OP request either.
It's always interesting to see which Kleypas books folks favor since they're all good in different ways IMO; and while many do list the Hathaway books, they're my least favorite too.
And for my full disclosure, the Bow Street Runners is my favorite series, which includes Lady Sophia and Worth Any Price. |

| Sorry if this is off topic, but I would like to know in which LK book heroine hires a maleprostitute? And secondly, is it a standalone? |

Suddenly You? He's not really a prostitute, but the heroine is led to believe this for a while. It's definitely a standalone (with some recurring characters, but it shouldn't matter much). |
