These lists just serve to remind me of the authors I no longer buy or read. I guess I am no longer with the majority of the mass marketplace buyers although I probably still buy more books than the average reader. |

Yeah, same for me. I will read the Anderson and Jeffries if I come across them, but my book buying is mostly much smaller names these days. _________________ "I say, don't read the classics -- try to discover your own classics; every life has its own." -- Rudolf Flesch, _How to Make Sense_ |

I like Anderson's heroes but hate the heroines. They are usually victims who are very controlling of the hero, IMO. |

I will read Jeffries. Love her. The others...not so much, although I have enjoyed Catherine Andersen. _________________ "As you wish"

I don't know what this says about me but I haven't read a single one of these authors, including Danielle Steel.
Kind of embarrassing. |

I have one favorite of Catherine Andersen: Commanche Moon. I love that book. For me, none of her others (and I tried several) compare to the mood, characterization, use of language ("My heart lays upon the ground."), and growth into love she was able to achieve in CM.
I kept trying to find another I liked as well but could't come close!
I have a fondness for Feehan because I cut my "vampire teeth" on the Carpathian Series, at least the first few books, and I've kept three in my library, but I haven't read any of her others. |

I've never bought most of these authors. Romance does account for a goodly proportion of all books sales, we all know, but I was just struck by how many romances happen to hit this list in one week when there are generally only one or two romances on it at any one time.
I do read Laurens and am really enjoying Glencrae which is off to a great start IMO. It got mixed ratings on Amazon (3.7/16 reviews) but good, solid ratings on Goodreads (4.17 rating/187 reviews).
I've read almost everything of Jeffries too but sort of burned out in the middle of this last series, so I'm taking a break... for who knows how long. |

Ebook sales are probably propelling more romances onto the best-seller lists. |
