|
|
| I voted already and because I used the AAR powersearch to track 2011 releases, I missed out voting for Best Debut author for Cecilia Grant - AAR lists A Lady Awakened as a 2012 publication but it actually is listed on Amazon to have a release date of 27 Dec 2011. I think there are others like me who thought it was a 2012 release too based on AAR's database. Please can we have clarification on this? I think Cecilia Grant was the best debut author for 2011 and we can't vote for her next year as her debut book is actually published in 2011. How could I update my vote to include this? (I did not cast a vote for best debut author in my submitted poll) |

| So - what is the copyright date then? I'm not ready to hand in my ballot yet, but I've read this book. |

Books released by the big 6 publishers on the last Tuesday of the month have the next month's copyright. So any books released December 27, 2011 are considered January 2012 releases.
I believe A Lady Awakened falls in this category, at least according to the date on the cover of my ARC copy. |

library addict is correct that A Lady Awakened is a 2012 release. The other pollsters and I carefully check book copyright pages (can be found on Amazon.com and BN.com). If a book is released in late 2011 but has a 2012 copyright date, it is a 2012 release and therefore you'll need to vote for it in next year's poll.
Just an FYI for anyone who voted for Thea Harrison, she is ineligible for 2011's Best Debuting Author because she previously published many books as Amanda Carpenter.
msaggie and any others who voted for Cecelia Grant or Thea Harrison: If you would like to update your ballot, you can either redo your ballot and make a note next to 2011's Best Debuting Author that you are changing your vote or send me a private message.

| LeeB., can we vote for Meg Maguire, The Reluctant Nude, as a debuting author or is she also ineligible because she had other books as Cara McKenna? |

Oh, no! I've just (literally just, like half an hour ago!) sent in my ballot, and since I knew A Lady Awakened had become physically available in 2011 (I bought it on the release date, on the 27th), I didn't even think there might be an issue with whether it was a 2011 or 2012 book. I voted for Grant as best debut author and for the protagonists as best romance couple. Is there any way I could change my votes there? _________________ My Reading Journal
